Fish Hatcheries? What’s next?

Fish Hatcheries? What’s next?

Before my employment with Washington Alarm, I assumed that the company’s business was quite predictable. They install and monitor alarm systems in schools, homes and businesses, right? Pretty simple idea to grasp. As you might be able to assume from a quick look through the website, I was quite wrong in my thinking. I soon realized that fire systems were a major part of the business here as well. After that I was introduced to the customer service and interaction component that is such a large part of the business and the employees. Then, not too much later, I began to realize all of the problems for which we develop solutions. The one area that stood out most to me was the environmental monitoring portion of our business; more specifically, fish hatcheries.

I was surprised, as one might imagine, to hear that one of our technicians would be travelling to a local fish hatchery in order to install a system that they had designed for the facility. The solution that they were implementing was a system of probes and sensors that would do a number of things. Primarily the system would monitor water flow and alert our central station in the event that it was insufficient. This intrigued me as I am an outdoor enthusiast and find fish hatcheries themselves fascinating.

As I continued to learn more about the industries that we serve, I constantly found myself enthralled by the unique solutions that our team develops in order to solve the unique requests that many of our customers present us with. It made me realize the flexibility of an industry that I had long thought to be quite rigid and concrete. This inevitably got me thinking about what was to come next. I am not sure what exotic designs we will look to create next, but only time and our customers will tell!
