Published by on November 29, 2016

According to Seattle Mayor, Ed Murray, “Seattle has more people than at any point in its history, but the number of fully trained officers has actually decreased in recent years.” Murray’s 2015–2016 budget had a plan to hire 100 new police officers by the end of his term. He pledged to make good on a campaign promise of adding 100 additional officers to the ranks of the Seattle Police Department. These position would be in addition to the existing police force, above and beyond attrition.
