Technician
$28-45/hr • Full-Time Hourly

We offer commercial and residential security, fire, surveillance, automation, access control and environmental monitoring systems.
Washington Alarm, the leader in Seattle for full service alarm systems is currently looking for Journeymen Electricians throughout Western Washington for the following sectors of our business: Service, Install, and Inspection.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot fire alarm and security system faults and trace and repair ground faults
- Perform Hardwired and Wireless Security installations
- Inspect and test electronic fire alarm and security systems at customer sites
- Produce system inspection, testing, and correction reports
- Service, troubleshoot, and install many different brands of electronic fire alarm and security equipment
- Test all equipment after installation/repair to ensure each system will perform as designed
- Communicate professionally with peers, customers, and managers
Required Qualifications
- Washington EL-06 Journeyman
- Driver’s License
- Must have working knowledge of local and national codes, including NFPA and NEC
Preferred Qualifications
- Seattle FA-1 License – ** to be obtained within 6 months of hire**
- NICET 2 Fire Alarm systems
- Alarm Technician Experience
- experience with Silent Knight, DMP, and 2GIG
- Great customer service skills
Physical Requirements
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to drive
- Use computer/cell phone technology and screens
- Small finger/hand dexterity
- Lift up to 20 pounds.
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl and twist as needed
- See, speak, and hear

Inspection Technician
$28-45/hr • Non-Exempt, Hourly
This position is responsible for the inspection and testing of company alarm and fire systems.
Washington Alarm Conducts pre-employment drug and background checks.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Inspects, repairs and tests hardwired and wireless security and fire alarm control devices, switch panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment and components at assigned customer sites.
- Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and basic network related problems encountered by end-users of the network. Has a basic understanding of IPV4 and how to assign a computer an IP address.
- Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Records periodic electrical testing and recommends or initiates modifications or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
- Operates company vehicle to drive to client sites to perform installations and testing.
- Instruct customers on proper devise use and maintenance measures.
- Communicate directly with customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Record any needed repairs and report to service team.
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Required Qualifications
- 06 Electrical License
- NICET II Certification
- Valid Drivers License
- Comfort and ease reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Knowledge of WA fire safety codes & regulations
- Exemplary customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Drive a company vehicle.
- Sit while driving, reading panels and using a computer.
- Stand and walk to inspect and perform repairs.
- Use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards,
- Engage with customers over the phone and in-person by voice.
- Lift up to 20 pounds.
- Climb ladders and stairs
- Stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl and twist as needed.
- Able to see within normal limits
- Able to hear to communicate with other and hear ambient noise for safety purposes.
- Able to use small hand tools.
